I-40 Pottawatomie County

I-40 Pottawatomie County

The scope of the project is to widen I-40 from 4 lanes to 6 lanes from the Oklahoma/Pottawatomie county line, east approximately 7 miles to US-177. New bridges will be built for I-40 over SH-102N (McLoud Road) and two county roads over I-40. The I-40/SH-102N interchange will be reconstructed to improve the geometry of the ramps. Services provided by CEC include bridge design, roadway design, traffic control and project sequencing. A summary of the bridge structures for the project is stated below:

I-40 over SH-102N (McLoud Road)
Construction of a three span (55’-90’-55’) steel I-beam bridge with 136’ clear roadway. The bridge will be constructed in three phases. The center portion of the proposed bridge will be constructed between the existing twin slab span bridges and the remaining portions of the proposed bridge will be constructed after the existing bridges are removed. Four lanes of I-40 traffic will remain open during construction operations.

Bethel Road over I-40
Construction of a four span (42’-95’-95’-42’) steel I-beam bridge with 32’ clear roadway and 12° Skew. The bridge will be constructed in phases to maintain existing traffic on I-40.

Fishmarket Road over I-40
Construction of a four span (40’-95’-95’-40’) steel I-beam integral bridge with 32’ clear roadway. The bridge will be constructed in phases to maintain existing traffic on I-40.
