City Of Richardson 30-Inch Waterline
CEC provided Quality Level B Designating and Quality Level A Test Holes for the design of approximately 10,000 LF of 30-in waterline for the City of Richardson. Our team designated more than 50,000 LF of utilities and performed 44 test holes. We developed SUE Plan sheets showing the existing utilities overlaid with the design topographic survey and generated a 3D design model using the Quality Level B electronic depths and Quality Level A test holes.
All existing waterlines were non-locatable and our team utilized trenching techniques with the vac truck to excavate a narrow slot trench perpendicular to the approximate pipe location. Once the pipe was found we did intermittent testholes to further confirm the alignment.
This project is one of the first to utilize 3D modeling for the SUE deliverable and CEC is one of the few consultants capable of collecting the data and processing it in the appropriate 3D model.
