I-40 Choctaw Road

I-40 Choctaw Road

The project begins approximately ½ mile east of the Choctaw Road Interchange near mile marker 167 and progresses east approximately 6 miles to the county line. The existing pavement will be removed and reconstructed and the interstate will be widened from four lanes to six lanes. The Harrah Road interchange and the Peebly Road interchange will be improved by increasing the turning radius of the existing loop ramps and with the addition of acceleration and deceleration lanes for entering and exiting I-40. The bridge structures that carry Triple X, Luther, and Harrah Road over I-40 will be reconstructed to accommodate the widened highway. Harrah Road will be widened to a 4 lane. Facility and construction will be phased in order to maintain existing traffic on Harrah Road and I-40. The I-40 bridges over Peebly Road and two bridge size RCB’s will also be reconstructed.
