Continental Carbon Substation

Rose Valley

CEC designed a new transmission line, physical substation layout, and new distribution line for the Continental Carbon plant in Ponca City, OK. The design of the transmission line was for a  0.5 mile 69 kV transmission line connecting the OG&E Osage Substation to the new Continental Carbon distribution substation. A new 69 kV terminal was also added with breaker and transformer connections. CEC designed the 0.5 mile 12.5 kV Distribution line to tie in to the existing plant distribution system. CEC coordinated with Z&F Consulting as well as the local utility, OG&E.

Continental Carbon Company was re-routing their plant service and upgrading their metering voltage to 69 kV. The old plant station and transformer was to be removed.

Special Design Features include:

  • Custom Deadend Structure
  • Crossed three transmission lines, a distribution line, and a railroad
  • Optical fiber link from the OG&E Substation with splice box and OPGW shield wire on the transmission line to the Continental Carbon Substation Control Room
