I-40 Crosstown Water and Sewer Relocation

water engineering, water engineers, water resources, water utility design, wastewater utility design, water professionals, stormwater design, water distribution design, wastewater collection design

The CEC portion of the I-40 Crosstown project consisted of the relocation of the freeway from I-44 to Pennsylvania Avenue in Oklahoma City. In addition to the roadway design, CEC was responsible for the plans to relocate City of Oklahoma City utilities displaced by the project. These included six sewer lines, the largest being 54 inches in diameter, and three water lines that varied from 8 to 12 inches. In order to span a drainage channel, a special aerial crossing was designed for the 54” line. The project required close coordination with both the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the City of Oklahoma City.
