OG&E Grid Modernization
CEC was asked by OG&E to inspect and design solutions to improve the structural and functional integrity of their Arkansas distribution system. CEC’s work was part of OG&E’s Grid Modernization Phase I project. Through Phase I, CEC has inspected over 10,833 overhead and underground facilities and produced 85 design packets for construction.
CEC’s inspection surveys and designs were an enhanced review of the distribution system including the review, verification, and redesign of overloaded transformers and their customer connection verification, non-standard equipment, missing animal protection, bad lightning arrestors, and noting vegetation encroachment.
This project provided an investment to OG&E’s existing grid network which will provide new value from the grid, improve reliability, resiliency, diversity of supply, and reduce customer energy costs to ensure rates remain low.
