I-35 and SH-9/Lindsey Street
This project includes the widening of I-35 and major reconstruction of the interchanges at Lindsey Street and SH-9 East, as well as the total reconstruct of Lindsey Street bridge over I-35. The new Lindsey Street interchange is defined as a Single-Point Urban Interchange (SPUI) which will help alleviate traffic congestion and help move large volumes of traffic more effectively. This is expected to have significant impacts on traffic in Norman.
This project represented the largest single contract in ODOT’s history at the time, and includes only one of three SPUI interchanges in the state of Oklahoma. The duration of the project is 920 days and the Contractor is Sherwood Construction.
CEC is currently providing construction inspection, testing, and audit services for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) for 1.036 miles of grading, surfacing, and a bridge on I-35 at the intersection of SH-9 and Lindsey Street in Norman, Oklahoma.
